About Jackie Bong Wright

Jackie Bong Wright is the President and CEO of the Vietnamese American Voter’s
Association, an organization dedicated to increasing voter registration in the Vietnamese
American community.  Forced to flee as a Vietnam War refugee to the United States, she
founded Indochinese Refugees Social Services, Inc. in 1979 to help resettle fellow
Vietnamese refugees in the Washington D.C. area.  For this effort, she was recognized by
the US-Asia Institute for a national award in the same year as fellow recipient Maya Lin,
who designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.  With a Masters degree from the School of
Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Jackie remains active in Asian American
issues through her tireless social work.  In addition, Jackie is an author who has
published her memoirs, a book entitled Autumn Cloud.  Jackie currently resides in
Virginia with her husband, retired United States Diplomat Lacy Wright.  They have three
children.
