About Jackie Bong Wright Jackie Bong Wright is the President and CEO of the Vietnamese American Voter’s Association, an organization dedicated to increasing voter registration in the Vietnamese American community. Forced to flee as a Vietnam War refugee to the United States, she founded Indochinese Refugees Social Services, Inc. in 1979 to help resettle fellow Vietnamese refugees in the Washington D.C. area. For this effort, she was recognized by the US-Asia Institute for a national award in the same year as fellow recipient Maya Lin, who designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. With a Masters degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Jackie remains active in Asian American issues through her tireless social work. In addition, Jackie is an author who has published her memoirs, a book entitled Autumn Cloud. Jackie currently resides in Virginia with her husband, retired United States Diplomat Lacy Wright. They have three children. |
