12/11/06 What a Great Ride What a great ride it has been for The Queen this year, and the year is not even over yet. We hosted a successful fund raising music concert (without any prior experience by any of us), screened at three film festivals, and received a Best Documentary Feature award from the VC Filmfest: Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival! Everywhere we've screened and everyone we've met along the way has given us unbelievable amounts of support and encouragement. I am so grateful and humbled by this entire experience. And I'm so happy that we made a good film that people like! A lot of filmmakers struggle, grind, and hustle to make independent films that turn out bad, so I'm really proud of my production team for creating a lively and inspiring movie. And we're putting the film out on home video next year! Some filmmakers don't even get the opportunity to make it this far. We're so lucky. On our contact page, there are links to our "Fan Dancers" and our "Orchestra." These are some of the people that have made huge contributions to our project along the way. Some them some love! Thank you again to everyone that has supported our project. We love you guys! 6/1/05 The Power of Two Grandmothers I went home this past weekend, and my grandmother (dad's side) told me that she will pray for the documentary to succeed. My other grandmother (mom's side) told me that I need to keep a clear mind and heart and never dwell on negativity. My grandmothers are awesome. 6/1/05 Sept '04 - June '05 - The Long Hair Era I refused to cut my hair during production and editing, which ended up taking about 9 months. |
